After traveling west from Penguin Village Neylo had found that there was nearly nothing, and would have wandered aimlessly for several days had he not run into a lone cottage at the foot of a mountain. The man inside had directed him to West City for anything he might need. Inevitably his search for a way to regain the strength he seemed to have lost had him in one of Capsule Corps. gravity chambers.
This world wasn't as crazy as his home planet, but it did have interesting technology. He looked around the metallic room as he entered. The doors slid back closed behind him and a mechanical lock was heard. He stepped over to the controls at the center of the room. Compared to the gravity he was used to, Earth's gravity was nothing. He set the gravity in the room to ten times its current strength.
Immediately he was jerked to his hands and knees by the shear force of the G intensity. He grit his teeth as he struggled to get his feet back underneath him. Slowly he was able to put one foot under him, then the other. He strained a bit to stand up. This was more than double the gravity he was used to. He considered that he might have overdone it, but shoved the thought to the back of his mind for how much he knew this training would improve his abilities.
He started attempting to take steps forward. He nearly face planted when he leaned forward to take the first of many difficult steps. Lifting his leg and extending it took an absurd amount of his strength. It was like fighters of equal level to himself were pulling against his movements with all their might. He almost dropped to one knee when he came down to plant his extended leg. He growled with determination as he took another step. This step was even more difficult than the first. He had to bring his back leg all the way forward while keeping his balance and resisting falling to his knees again when he put his foot down.
After ten or so minutes Neylo appears to have mastered walking in the intense gravity, though he still moves slowly. He now sees fit to attempt what some might believe unthinkable. He plans to try to run. He stops walking long enough to get his full balance back and take a few deep breaths. He then uses all the strength in his body to move forward as quickly as he can. In an impressive turn of events he actually manages the first several steps with no faults. He loses his balance after that, though, and slams flat on his face.
His nose was now bleeding from smacking the metal floor at ten times gravity and his chest is bruised from the secondary impact. He roars in frustration, "Ggrrraaaaa-aaaaahh!" He peels himself off the floor one limb at a time. First he planted his left palm on the floor and lifted his left elbow and shoulder. Then he repeated the process with his right. He slides one knee under him at a time. At last he gets back to a standing position and prepares for round two. With his final sprint, he makes it three times around the room as quickly as he can move without falling. He's sweating and breathing heavily now, so he sees fit to call that the end of this training session. He turn the gravity back to normal and heads out.
