"... Ummm..."
"Yes?"
Apparently, on the top of the lookout Yamcha looked so forward to getting up to, was placed a black figure looking like a rather fat human with pointy ears and no nose. A turban was placed upon its head, covering the rest of it above the small space of forehead seen and he wore Arabian-style clothing, almost looking like a Genie. He stared blankly at the new identity that arrived at the temple while birds were sort of playing atop his shoulders, as he sat calmly upon a fancy-looking rag. And to be completely honest, even if he was told that a certain guy around the temple called 'Mr. Popo' could give him good training benefits, this guy didn't seem like too much of a good challenge. In fact, the long-haired man almost thought he was lost there, until he saw those birds hanging around his shoulders. What exactly was he?
"Hope you don't mind me asking, but I'm looking for a guy named Popo. Was told he could give me better training?"
It should be surprising enough to see a human so high up in the skies as it is, for Yamcha to be found at the temple like this would be a very rare scenario. In fact, the only possible reason he would be there is if he can get some efforts, considering the thin air and the isolation from Puar. He can't actually gain money from this, nor is he getting any ways of localizing, but he was sent there by Korin after finishing his tasks, so this Popo guy must be really something. Surprisingly enough, right after asking, the black guy stood up (scattering the birds on his shoulders) and folded his hands behind his back calmly. It was weird, he had the presence almost similar completely to that of a doll: nothing was emitted from him at all.
"Ah, I see. In that case, you've come to the right place. I am Mr. Popo. I suppose Korin sent you, is that fair to say? Let us begin then."
The opposing 'thing' was smiling slightly as he spoke. Much to the long-haired human's surprise, although he was emitting no presence at all, he soon found himself fighting to keep his life up in this intense height against the identity he just met. But no matter how hard he hit or how much speed he put into his movements, Mr. Popo here was just way too fast. In fact, there's a high possibility that he was even faster than the wolf bandit could have gone, although he was so much faster after training with Korin.
"Argh!!" He was soon also knocked back by a black fist delivered straight to his face, sending him flying backwards right to a palm tree. This guy was strong, way stronger than he looked.
"You lack concentration, Yamcha. Perhaps we could continue once your mind is ready."
The human was enraged for his pride being mocked like that by someone he barely knows. As bigger as he was than the human-looking-creature, he still couldn't land a single hit at him. The purpose of this training was to land a hit, mark at least a single attack at the opposing target, but he couldn't get close enough to deliver a successful hit: Popo managed to dodge every single attack the man threw at him, and with such a lax nature while at it. It really ticked him off, as to resort to something he didn't really wanted to use.
"Ungh!! As hell as we're continuing tomorrow! You've yet to check out my Wolf Fang Fist!!"
He declared, then jumped forward with the proper stance while yelling primitively. The movements he performed were getting faster by the second as he rapidly kicked and swiped at the black figure, but to no avail. He was still dodged easily, even while he moved so fast while fusing his attacks with the After-Image technique. But luck would have it, one of the attacks were actually deflected by the Genie and Yamcha was send backwards facing Popo with his back, only to be kicked by the way more powerful warrior.
"Again, you should ready your mind before making an approach. It is futile to just land random blows at your enemies."
But the warrior didn't listen to the opposing man's words, but instead decided to get off of this with a certain smartening process. He tried outsmarting the enemy by stating the obvious, counting it as not too much of a success.
"Aha... Ouch... But you're wrong Popo! I did mark a hit!"
By that, Yamcha probably meant the one that was blocked earlier. It would obviously not count for such a skilled and honest man such as Popo, and so it wasn't, as the black man fully noted afterwards that the block didn't actually mark as a hit, considering it didn't make direct contact with the man's body. That's where a contradiction rose up, by Yamcha of course, saying that a hit's definition would be a certain spot hitting a different one, thus the block counts as a hit. But seeing to it as Popo isn't satisfied with that definition, the human resorted to taking out his Spirit Ball, throwing it at the black man. The ball chased Popo endlessly, getting him close enough to the human and allowing him to jump directly to the man's berserk-going body, repeatably attempting to hit him and at the end managing to strike his stomach.
But Popo remained stronger and pushed Yamcha back as soon as he made a successful hit. He was, though, fair enough to allow him to get up to the next level.
"You've done well. But let's see if your strategies would be enough against someone more like you."
He said and with a smile, went away.
