It was only a short time after he had arrived in the city, once a much more skilled fighter in his prime, he was able to seek out the warriors of this place – a gym. Sitting in a false position of meditation, he had managed to eavesdrop on the many muscle heads within, each misguided by some insatiable appetite for feeding their egos which made their stiff, powerful, muscles look minuscule in comparison. Resorting to eavesdropping? It was so sneaky – but, it wasn't as if he was searching for their deepest secrets, merely a tool in which to further himself physically.
”Hey Cru!” a tall blonde man hailed to his nearby friend, who was lifting dumbells “Nngh! What is it, Burd?” The somewhat larger, but shorter man would reply, “I just heard of somethin' today! Apparently theres-” He would attempt to inform his friend of the incredible news, however was interrupted “What? About Capsule Corp and...Nrragh! An' their private trainin stuff?” The man would finish up, his chest lifting and sinking rapidly beneath his sweat soiled shirt. “Y-yeah! How did ya know?!” he would question in a somewhat surprised manner, mouth agape, eyes full of shock.
“Because ya dumb lugnut! You've told me seven times already!! It's all justa urban legend, no ones ever allowed ta use 'em.” the pair would finish, as Nam sat nearby, eyes shut, as he focused on soaking in the information around him. “Hmm...this, Capsule Corp, has what I seek then? Very well then, I'll-” However Cru and Burd spotted Nam and walked over. “Hey guy, ya lost? You look like yo'd break you're arms if ya tried working out here, har har har!” the blonde man would scoff as Nam felt his eyes snap open “Eeeheheh! Er, yes, you are most likely c-correct! I will get going at once.” Nam tried to slip away, before the other, Cru, snatched him by his shoulder “Hey, whre do ya think yer goin?! We're talkin to ya still, ya afraid of a little confrontation?!”
Sighing, Nam turned to face them in a flash, but instead of disposing of them, he extended the index finger and middle finger from each hand, the rest curling tightly “I am sorry, but I don't have time to deal with you roughians!” thus, instead of attacking them, exploited their obvious sluggishness and poked them both in their eyes. They both reeled and screamed, something to the effect of 'Gah! My eyes!!!' and while they were distracted and blinded, Nam quickly ran from the gym, leaving them embarassed, perhaps a bit angry.
Now
Getting in was relatively easy, though he could tell they were looking at him strangely, but with everything else in this city, his dress and behavior was not enough to warrant too much suspicion when he asked for a tour. He felt a bit bad about tricking the man, but once he spotted a series of peculiar doorways he silently slipped away. There he came upon a slight roadblock, but with a little patience he was fortunate enough as a door opened with a hiss, someone was coming out! Some quick thinking was demonstrated, clinging to the ceiling as a strange man stepped from the doorway, since it was password locked he quickly managed to jump down behind the individual, being very silent and quick, darted inside before suspicion could be raised.
Inside he stepped toward a panel which was attached to a large, cylindrical device. All was well lit, he scanned the room in somewhat wonderment but ultimately he couldn't help but feel a bit disillusioned “This is it? It looks like a very bare room, hmm, there must be a secret to it, yes, that must be it!” He nodded as he finally came to a stop before the console, it appeared there was a bit of seat still on the knob “Hmm...what if I try this?” with care, he would turn it very gently, but nothing happened quite yet. “Nothing has changed...but what is this?” He would turn his attention to a large button, he desperately hoped he hadn't found some over glorified tanning booth as a single long finger would press the button.
Beep.
Suddenly, tremendous weight began to bear down on him, forcing him to briefly buckling his knees but soon fell onto them. Teeth were clenched and bared, it was almost too much to bare, maybe he was too old...no! Nam managed to push himself up, his muscles flexing as he set a foot down flat, then began to pick himself up, attempting to walk it off and soon enough he managed it. “Hahaha! Amazing, what those brutes said was true, this truly is a wondrous machine![/b]” He laughed with a jovial sense of joy, it took brief moments as he soon began to put his muscles to work, taking more to trying to lengthen and toning his muscles, as opposed to purely tying to make them stronger as he managed to perform stretches and various yoga positions.
But preliminary training was over, he now had to focus on strengthening his human body, to push himself beyond his previous limits more so than he had already. His robes has been discarded, wearing only light wrappings over his hips, pushing himself as beads of perspiration ran over his dark toned skin, working so he could get so used to this alien gravity, but so far his body strained and fatigued against the powerful tug of the gravity. He could withstand it well enough now, sure, but he was impaired still, he had to fight through the strain, through the fatigue poisons which were building more rapidly in his muscles.
After his 3,000th push up, he paused for a slight break, laying with his thin and toned bod to the hard metal, breathing heavily. He felt stronger, his lips curling with a well earned pleasure “Hah...hahaha! I feel it, I really feel it!” It was a wonderful rush, as the sense of accomplishment had brought him satisfaction in knowing his goal was being accomplished, but with his right arm, he manage to push himself upright, arms mildly shaking with stress as he crossed his legs, and assumed a meditative pose to reflect on what he had done, how strong he felt, as well as to grant himself a brief moments peace.
With so much of his body prepared and trained in the gravity, he had to reshape what he had already learned, Nam began to stand, his body prepared for more. Pressing his eyes shut, he began to train, striking at air, reciting striking moves, assuming defensive positions, all while his eyes were shut, using his enhanced senses to prevent him from stumbling, however his arms were tired, they had to be focused and trained to properly strike efficiently, and move with greater efficiency he had previously expected of them.
But assuredly, one step after the other, they improved, and the last step had to deal with speed training. Sluggishly he attempted to run in circles, attempted jumps, they were after a part of his capability. It was absolutely grueling, it was as if he was a mere child relearning how to do things he had done before. However he was a very strong and spry man, he managed to triumph. Now all he had to do was put his clothes on and come up with a good excuse for why he had disappeared. Unknown to him, his little escapades had been captured on film via Capsule Corp surveilence. With that, the wandering Nam managed to open the door and leave.
