Floating around in a rejuvenation tank inside a hospital room, a half-naked Raditz lingered in a state of unconsciousness. The only sign of life from him was his slow breathing through an oxygen mask, which caused bubbles to form in the liquids around him. He had been scooped off from the battlefield, barely clinging to life until now. All across his body there were battle wounds, both plentiful and diverse in severity. Some bones were broken, and even a few organs had been damaged. In a span of a few hours these injuries would soon heal; a miracle work of technology when compared to the primitive standards of Earth.
Raditz wasn't alone in the Docking Station's med-ward. A cadre of doctors and nurses had been long present, tending to his medical needs. The checking of his vitals, the monitoring of his progress, and the making diagnoses were continually made all around the clock to ensure his recovery. It was vital for the Saiyans to keep such a strong warrior as Raditz alive; given his recent, most mysterious rise to power. And this is why he attracted much commotion amongst the staff, curious as to what could have injured Raditz; who now had a power level well over three hundred thousand.
"He seems to be healing just fine; actually doing much better than we first expected. Raditz's a resilient one, a true warrior. His zenkai is making him stronger......And his power-level ---- purely phenomenal. said one of the white lab-coated doctors talking to one of his colleagues. Of course in their former life-times before death and resurrection, most Saiyans had never seen something quite like Raditz. Back in the day, the highest power levels recorded were only over ten thousand. An astonished colleague replied to the first doctor, by asking "What possibly could have done this to him?"
Then like a lightning bolt striking down from the heavens, Raditz was suddenly snapped back into consciousness at random. His eyelids fluttered and flashed about, until his eyes groggily focused on the conversing doctors outside his regeneration tank. From the once blissful slumber of unconsciousness he now awoke, only to find himself tossed upon tides of pain which left him searingly awake. The doctors were astonished at Raditz's sudden awakening, if not puzzled. Most would have passed out from the damage, as these grievous injuries were enough to bring any grown Saiyan warrior to howls of anguish and tears of agony. Powerful or not, the medical staff weren't going to let Raditz out of the rejuvenation tank.
"He's back with us already......amazing.", the first doctor said first before answering his colleague's question. Adjusting his own labcoat, the doctor took a deep breath before finally giving a reply. "Raditz participated in the Battle of Planet Necron.......that bug planet we have been fighting across the sector. High command decided that the planet was an utter dump, not worth for conquest or sale. A waste of blood on both sides, if you ask me." the doctor said before pausing momentarily and then moving on. Meanwhile Raditz made no attempt to try and discern what the doctors were talking about, as his mind was still in fragments from his harrowing ordeal. Its not like one could clearly hear much from the inside of a rejuvenation tank anyway.
So while our main forces pulled back to begin withdrawal and retreat; Raditz showed up on his own accord. Rumor has it he was looking for something. A mystical ball of some sorts.. Long story short, it was basically him against the remnants of the Necronian race. Needless to say, he got the job done while almost killing himself. That was until a scout ship picked him up. I hear they're going to give him the medal of honor", the first doctor said sheepishly. While the doctors continued their dialogue about Raditz, the Saiyan warrior was busily trying to recollect his most recent memories. It all seemed a hazy blur until..........
Flashback
"Hmpf! Those cowards!" Raditz yelled while thumping his foot down on the barren desert ground. Looking up into the orange, wretched skies of Necronia, Raditz witnessed as a military ship of Saiyans departed this horrid dump of a planet. For days Raditz been fighting, and it was disheartening that the Saiyan army had pulled back from here. This was ostensibly due to high casualties; and the grim realization that this planet was rather worthless. Its only native inhabitants were mere alien beasts - those of a giant insectoid race resembling that of giant, armored slugs. As their bodies made them well protected against ki-blasts and conventional weaponry; a great hindrance to any efforts at Saiyan conquest. Worse yet, their bodies made them difficult to track with scouters.
Though Raditz would have normally left under such circumstances, he had an ulterior reason for being here. Still he had heard a military report that some metallic object had crashed somewhere on this planet, too small to be a Saiyan pod. As his quest to find all the Black Star Dragon Balls had led him to desperately race across the galaxy, Raditz was determined to leave not a single lead without proper investigation. It would be an arduous task, as the planet was largely inhospitable, and its raging sandstorms often obscured vision. For hours Raditz would go on to fly and scout around this barren planet, looking for signs of any crash sites.
*BEEP*BEEP*BEEP sounded off Raditz's scouter has he approached an oncoming crater down below on the desert surface, By now it was nightfall, and a half-moon was present to shine some light onto the desert sands below. Though unlike a white, blutz wave type moon; this one was a crimson one in color. Flying down to the location, Raditz was dismayed when he saw what was really inside the crater. It was a small satellite probe; crude, round and metallic. No longer in operation, this primitive device was undoubtedly set off into deep space by a space-faring civilization ages ago. As it seemed, another day had been wasted for Raditz. "SON OF A F@$* SAIBAMAN " Raditz cursed out in a furious rage at this incredulous discovery.
Yet in this moment of shouted frustration, Raditz had forgotten that he was not alone. Just then the very ground he stood on started rumbling, tearing itself up to reveal two large Necronians burst from the sands with their large slug-like mouths. Charging up their antennae with some strange form of ki-energy, the large creatures caught Raditz off guard and blasted him with a tremendous combined force of energy. It was if their attack was synchronized; probably through some sort of insectoid hive mind. Raditz was hit deep into the chest, with his Saiyan battle armor breaking apart. Stunned and bruised, Raditz felt a little pain just as the armored beasts charged up for another assault.
"That attack! No way it could be so powerful!" an angered Raditz shouted as he clutched his slightly wounded chest. It felt as if at least one hundred thousand units of power level had been hurled into his chest. Yet in this very moment of confusion, Raditz quickly remembered a vital piece of information he had heard about this planet. Staring up to the half-moon for just a split second, Raditz remembered a fact about this planet's moon. It imbued the planet's native species with great powers, much like how full moons would allow Saiyans to transform into Oozarus. Thus it appeared that the alien slugs used this as their main source of energy; giving them the ability to fire greater blasts of ki energy than they normally would. As this was sufficient enough to turn back the great Saiyan army, it seemed that Raditz was in great peril himself.
Quickly channeling purple spheres of white and purple ki into his own hand, Raditz charged up an attack of his own to pre-empt these mindless beasts from accosting him further. Raditz knew he had to act quick, as his scouter was going haywire as the beasts charged up their ki once more to incredible power levels. "DOUBLE SUNDAY! Raditz shouted as to highlight one of his signature attacks. The blasts hit each creature with such ferocity that, their bodies exploded once the beams pierced their hard, durable outer shells. Still shaking off the damage previously done to him, Raditz was again caught off guard as another slug emerged from the sands. Thumping its large mucusy tail.
"What the?!" Raditz exclaimed as he looked beyond his right shoulder. This time attacking him from the rear, this next alien fired a large beam of ki energy at Raditz's side. This wasn't honorable combat; rather this was hit and run guerrilla warfare. Knocked off balance from this daring attack, Raditz laid on the ground clutching his sides, before attacking back with repeated ki-blasts of his own; his patented Weekly Special attack. Like those before him, this last alien couldn't withstand the tremendous force of Raditz's own attacks. Yet this was a war of attrition, and Raditz had sensed something to be amiss. These alien beasts that operated like a hive; protecting the planet from any intruders. Reaching out through his now finely tuned ki-sense, Raditz was overcome with the knowledge that hundreds, perhaps thousands of these bug creatures were now swarming down to his site.
Perhaps it would be prudent to destroy it? Then on the other hand, without a moon on this planet would be even more worthless to Saiyans. There was after all, a great prize to be sought if Raditz could manage to "cleanse" the planet of these pests on his own. Standing up while clutching his sides in agony, Raditz was too weak and tired to go on much further. Any more of these surprise assaults and he would surely be a goner. Thus Raditz was at a loss at what to do. At any moment another one of these beasts could pop up and attack him. Though he could instant transmission his way from the planet, Raditz certainly didn't want to walk away empty handed.
"This leaves me no choice! Raditz shouted as he capsulized his scouter and placed it into his armored belt. Then almost immediately he raised up his right hand to charge up a large, quickly growing white sphere of ki energy. Yet unlike his other attacks, Raditz was coyly mixing this energy sphere with the air of the planet to generate artificial blutz waves. It was none other than the dreaded Power Ball technique. If the aliens could have their mysterious red moon, then Raditz would certainly have one of his own too. Tossing the Power Ball high up into the air, Raditz smiled with relief as he would now soon have the upper hand.
Upon witnessing the Power Ball reach its full form, Raditz began to feel the effects of metamorphosis begin to creep in. The pupils of his eyes fully disappeared and the entirety of his eyeballs changed to a crimson color. Raditz's bones and muscles began to ache as thick growths of ape hair began steadily sprouting all over across his body. Then soon after his face became more apelike, and then his size began to multiply several times fold. Rising dozens of meters into the air, Raditz's transformation was nearing completion. Fortunately his Saiyan armor also grew with him, allowing him to not fight in the nude. "HAHAHAHAHA!", the Oozaru transformed Raditz roared in his ape-like voice. Raditz was feeling no doubt very revitalized and confident after this great transformation. His power level was now well over three million, good odds for any Saiyan. Yet would triggering his Oozaru transformation be enough to handle hundreds, if not thousands of enemy aliens?
End of Flashback
Back in the rejuvenation training chamber, Raditz found himself struggling to recollect the rest of his account. Time seemed almost lucid in his mind; memories were just shattered dreams. Snippets of memories would routinely pour in over the next several hours, as his body repaired itself from the injuries he had sustained back on Necronia. Multiple flashbacks of him as an Oozaru resonated throughout his mind; blasting and smashing thousands of his adversaries left and right as they assaulted him en masse in desperation. He had fared better, though eventually the protracted battle took on a toll on his body. The creatures amplified energy blasts still stung him with pain in their Oozaru form; and a heated battle against their hive-mind queen nearly destroyed him. Yet when all was said and done, Raditz had somehow managed to do it; the eradication of an entire species.
