Given the choice; whether to complete an impossible task or to worse yet challenge the very universal order on which life and death laid..... what was a Saiyan Warrior to do? To defy Fate itself; to ask for a recasting of the dice. Only the impudence, nay bravado, of Raditz would harken for such epic glory. Failure was for the defeatist, and meekness was for the coward. Verily, collecting all the Black Star Dragon Balls in one month's time was one way for him to avoid certain death. Yet there was another, more dubious method that Raditz had recently surmised of...; that of taking on King Yemma himself.
Ever since Babidi and Bibidi had made their great escape from Hell with an army of Hell minions, the Other World had been thrown into much chaos and confusion. Raditz knew this all to well, as he had aided those arcane sorcerers in their conspiracy. An indifferent soldier; Raditz merely wanted to taste the sweetness of freedom and mortal life once more. His desires were fulfilled when the plan went about unhindered, and Hell was emptied of all its denizens upon resurrection. As a result, the playing field had also been evened back on Earth and elsewhere. The Z-Fighters and their returning enemies had also been greatly depowered. It was through these turbulent events; that Raditz was able to rise up from insignificance to far greater heights. He had gone from such a low power level formerly to now being one of the highest in existence within weeks. All thanks no doubt to an evil, wish granting dragon......
Materializing out of thin air before the Check-In Station of the great King Yemma, Raditz now displayed much more than his own arrogance and daring. He had recently acquired the Instant Transmission technique, allowing Raditz to bridge the gap between the physical and spiritual realms with ease. While he stood on the roadway platform which led into the pagoda shaped office building, Raditz watched as dozens of souls of the dead now floated by him by much like a conveyer belt. Then casting his gaze down to the off-road orange clouds, Raditz reminded himself how good it felt to be out of Hell. Shortly thereafter, two Ogre nearby guards standing at the doorway caught sight of the mischevious Saiyan. They looked upon Raditz with alarm and fright, as it seemed that yet another villain was prepared to ransack or threaten this building so soon. "S-S-stop in the name of King Yemma! Y-y-you can't come here!" stammered one of the Ogres. Having been privy to the recent exploits of the Saiyan on Earth, these Other World guards were certainly hesitant to fight; let alone bother him. Perhaps a polite warning and bureaucratic entangling was worth a shot? The Ogres had to do their jobs; for they equally feared what King Yemma could do to them.....
"Is that so?" Raditz said whilst raising an eyebrow as he non-nonchalantly walked towards them and the Check-In Station's doorway. Upon him a sinister smile spread from ear to ear. It was apparent that Raditz did not take so kindly to their orders, feeling less insulted and more so amused. Rebuking their authority, Raditz would instead instead offer a most violent rebuttal in reply. color=red]"Well I got my reservation right HERE!!!![/color] Raditz replied with sarcasm as he raised his fists at the guards. Back handing tje both of them with tremendous force, the bodies of the Ogres were sent speeding off the roadway right and left. As they screamed in terror, Raditz cackled to himself as the Ogres were cast asunder into the clouds of Hell. The befitting irony of it all, as Raditz was once cast down there in a similar manner by King Yemma nearly three decades ago.
"And now onto business....", an undaunted Raditz said as he walked into the Check-In Station proper. Before him there were more Ogres, though these were the office worker types. Filing out papers and interviewing newly arrived souls, they were too mired in their own bureaucratic process to take notice of Raditz just yet. Taking the opportunity, Raditz merely slipped in line with all the other arrivals. This way, he wouldn't attract suspicion if he kept within the daily grind of the Other World's bureaucracy. Raditz then waited several minutes until he got to one of the lobby desks. Lost within his stack of forms and files at his desk, the office Ogre that Raditz finally approached wasn't taking notice of the Saiyan Warrior either. Rather the office worker just muttered to himself, wrote things down, and adjusted his thick, black rimmed glasses. Long working hours and expectation that the line was running smoothly - no doubt. "Borgaduz Targani.....Male 58, Bandarian. Move along.... King Yemma is awaiting you. Next!", the Ogre said without even looking up at Raditz.
Taking his cue, Raditz proceeded to follow those ahead of him by moving left from the desk towards a gigantic open doorway to an adjacent room. Big enough for a particular Other World being, no doubt. Just right above it in big bold letters there was a sign-plate which bore very King Yemma's name and title. Raditz wasn't intimidated just one bit; he had been through this harrowing process before. Normally Except this time he was alive; and more powerful than anyone could have ever imagined. Just as he stood awaiting at the doorway for his turn, Raditz could hear a very familiar voice coming from the other side. "WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE CAST THE GUARDS TO HELL?!!!" an indignant Yemma yelled.
"Could you expect any less of me, Yemma?" Raditz said smugly as he entered the King's office. A furious and shocked King Yemma was sitting at his giant mahogany desk, which towered clearly over Raditz and Yemma's other ogre assistants standing in the room. Gnashing his teeth and pounding his fists on the desk, King Yemma was aside himself that Raditz was able to drop by so swiftly. It was worse enough that the likes of Cell and major villains could harass and bully him, but now Raditz too? Normally Yemma could summon someone like Pikkon to stop this mess, but now as of late the Other World's greatest heroes were just shells of their former selves. "Assistants, LEAVE US!" Yemma ordered to his attendees. They scampered out of the room, leaving Raditz and Yemma alone to a tense stare-down. At least if things went astray, the King wouldn't have the embarrassment of having his staff witness Raditz insult him. Though the King knew Raditz had become powerful; he wasn't quite sure anymore of the Saiyan's machinations. Unlike other villains, Raditz was a wild-card, a force unto himself. W-What do YOU want, Raditz?? the Lord of the Other World asked furiously. Yet this anger was just a facade; as King Yemma knew to keep his persona in check - otherwise Raditz would use any signs of fear or doubt to his advantage.
"A REMATCH, OLD FRIEND! GLORIOUS COMBAT!" Raditz replied sharply while outstretching his arms into the air. Despite King Yemma having a far greater size advantage and even power over people's spiritual fates, Raditz was certainly up for the challenge. For he knew that if he dispatched here and now, there would be no death or Hell in store for his immediate future. A most daring loophole around the consequences of using the Black Star Dragon Balls nonetheless. "Let's see just how well that Yemma Lock holds up now!" Raditz said while flying up onto to King Yemma's desk with blinding speed. A bead of sweat dripped down the King's face as the Saiyan closed in.
"WAIT! You don't -" desperately appealed the ing before Raditz grabbed his thick black beard. Pulling down hard onto Yemma's hairs with great force and fury, Raditz immediately forced his opponent to smack his head against the large mahogany desk. "What's the matter? Can't pick on someone NOT your own size anymore?" Raditz said sarcastically with glee, referencing the last time he and Yemma squared off. "Ughhhh!" Yemma groaned in pain as he tried pushing away from his desk. It was to no avail however, as resistance was futile in this scenario. The feeling of having his long hairs being pulled out was torturous for Yemma, and the Saiyan warrior's tremendous grip held firm despite being so tiny in comparison. Knowing that Raditz could do far worse to him, Yemma was at his mercy and dastardly whims.
"Though back to what I really want....... I seem to have run into a bit of conundrum lately as you may know. You petty Other Worlders always seem to keep track of my deeds." Raditz said as he pulled Yemma's giant head so that he may stare back into his terrified, red skinned face. "I can't seem to find those Black Star Dragon Balls, and they're scattered all over the galaxy. And as the Dark Shenron told me, I have less than a month to find them all or I die......" Raditz explained further on. Then while freeing one of his hands while still holding onto Yemma's beard with the other, Raditz let loose a punch to hit Yemma on the chin. There wasn't really any point in that, except for Raditz to toy with him and take pleasure in exacting his revenge thus so far. "So to save myself, I wondered if I should cut out the middleman? After all, I've always wondered how exactly the Other World would function without a Check-In Station. No one would arrive to Heaven or Hell......Just like in that one time with Janemba, right?!" Raditz said with an evil grin; seemingly toying with the idea of destroying the cycle of life and death.
With his eyes widening larger and his mouth left agape, Yemma was stunned at the Saiyan Warrior's audacity to even speak of such a crime. It certainly wasn't something befitting of Raditz's handiwork, but Yemma also realized that Raditz had become a loose cannon as of late. General policy for Yemma was not to negotiate with terrorists; although Raditz clearly had him stuck between a rock and a hard place. Even the Kais had instructed him, to do anything possible to stop Frieza's threat. Meanwhile Yemma also assumed, that Raditz wasn't finished with his speech quite yet. If Raditz truly wanted to destroy or conquer, he would have already done so with his great power level. "But I'm not that evil or foolish to destroy the already fragile order, am I? So lets see what else you can do for me." Raditz asked rhetorically to Yemma, indicating there was some room for discussion. Though Raditz was a villain, he truly a lesser evil compared to the likes of Cell, Babidi, or Dabura for example. Certainly he wasn't a lackey to the World Trade Organization any longer either. The Saiyan Warrior no longer held any of his former allegiances, save that to his father Bardock and at least nominally the Saiyan warrior race.
"I-I-I can tell you where the One Star ball is!" King Yemma said while his face was still mixed with fear and pain. Intrigued to say the least, Raditz swayed his furry Saiyan tail back and forth behind himself. "Go on....", Raditz replied. Loosening his grip on Yemma's beard, Raditz was eager to hear what else the Lord of the Other World had to tell him. "F-Frieza has it now! And now he's looking for the rest.", Yemma sputtered on. upon this stark bit of news, Raditz let go of Yemma as to instead contemplate the next course of action. While Raditz crossed his arms and thought on, the King took the opportunity to straighten up and regain composure. This certainly was something Raditz had not expected.
After a brief moment of awkward silence, Raditz flexed out his muscles and puffed out his chest with typical Saiyan pride. "Frieza then? For years I've longed for THIS opportunity. Then I'll just have to beat it out of him!" Raditz said boastingly. He arrogantly assumed that his Black Star wish had made him the strongest being in the universe, after all. Yet Yemma wasn't as amused or as confident as Raditz was in this most dire situation. "As powerful as you may be Raditz, don't assume you're the strongest out there. In fact - Frieza slightly outclasses you now, by about 200,000 units." A sudden rush of anger and disbelief came upon Raditz's visage; for this information was most unsettling if it were true. "No, it can't be! Its impossible! I know EXACTLY what Babidi and Bibidi wished for... I was there! YOU LIE!" Raditz yelled back in rage. King Yemma quickly shook his head no, trying to explain himself as quickly as possibly before things got out of hand. "R-Raditz, hear me out... You were all mislead... Frieza has regained much of his former power, by becoming a Majin instead. In exchange for serving Babidi and Bibidi; he is allowed to do whatever he wants. Namely to eradicate the Saiyans once more, and to rebuild his empire! He musn't be allowed to have the Black Stars!", King Yemma said in exasperation.
Of course, Raditz didn't take kindly to these revelations all too well. The gravity of the situation hit him like a ton of bricks, as his situation had become many times more difficult. His arms slumped to his sides; he felt as if he were overcome with a sense of displacement. The fate of many now rested in the hands Raditz. A lesser evil pitted against a greater one. "Then I guess I have no choice, but to be your unwitting pawn no doubt? But what's in it for me, if, no when, I succeed anyways? We both know that if Kakarot could surpass Frieza - THEN SO CAN I!" Raditz shouted, displaying that he was keenly aware of any trickery from Yemma's part. Having spent so much time in the after life, Raditz knew far better than to trust the bureaucracy of the Other World.
Thus the Lord of the Other World would need to offer up something more substantial to the Saiyan warrior; as compensation for his many years imprisonment and past humiliations. "How about a clean slate, Raditz? The Kais have allowed such to be in my power. Behave a little a more. We could put your past transgressions behind you. No more of an eternal sentence in Hell, for you or any of your family......How does that sound?" Raditz raised his head and looked the King back squarely into his eyes. "That's quite an offer....." Raditz said while still mentally grappling with the idea. Yemma pressed on, continuing his speech. "It pains me this much to say it; but you are really the only hope we have right now. And that of the Saiyan Race as well. Already Frieza has assembled some military forces.", Yemma said as to remind Raditz of the high stakes.
Rustling his right palm against the back of his long, bushy hair, Raditz straightened out his expression before replying back. His face was that of a true Saiyan warrior, ready to accept a challenge no matter what the cost. "Very well then. I guess will have to play the role of a hero..... Raditz tacitly said. The machinations of fate did not amuse him in the slightest; but he had no other choice. If he succeeded, at least he would undoubtedly come out much better off compared to the alternative. Still, having to accept being Yemma's hired gun still pissed him off greatly. "I knew you would come around, Raditz. Just don't fail, and I won't have to send you back to where you belong", the King said ominously with a smirk finally coming upon his once troubled face.
