Surviving the Saibamen - Round 1
"Do you see this? Look at his power level! Its 7500!" said a control room operator behind to a colleague outside the training chamber. They were Saiyans, but looked to be more of the scientist type rather than bulky warriors like Raditz. It was their task to grow and train the Saibamen of the Saiyan Empire. Both of them were steadily pressing buttons to prepare the oncoming rounds. "That can't be right, he used to be just a grunt! The damn scouters are probably just fuzzing up!" the other operator said. "Can't be.....diagnostics were checked this morning!", the first one said dismissively.
The two workers looked inquisitively beyond their protective glass window; staring at the awaiting Raditz inside the training chamber. In his typical arm's crossed pose, the arrogant son of Bardock was rather impatient. "Will you imbeciles hurry it up already? Send in the Saibamen in NOW!", Raditz roared at the operators, knowing they could hear him through their speakers. Raditz had been waiting patiently for the past fifteen minutes, after all. Looking around at his surroundings while he waited further, Raditz realized that this chamber was big enough to fit in an Oozaru.
Then suddenly a flashing light went off inside the training chamber along with a siren. "Round 1 Initiating" echoed a cold, robotic voice. Tapping his right foot, Raditz eagerly anticipated the arrival of his opponents. On the opposite side of the training chamber, a large metal door began to raise itself as a gust of cryogenic mist began to pour out. "No time limit.", the same voice echoed further.
"About time! I hope you send a lot!" Raditz said enthusiastically as he readied himself into a normal fighting stance. Hearing the childish snickers of the Saibamen and sensing their energy, Raditz anticipated that they would soon make themselves known once the mist cleared up. Out they came, some running and somersaulting. Five in total overall. Raditz had waited so many minutes, only to fight these weak little creatures.
"WHAT? JUST THESE? Raditz yelled in a furious rage. The Saiyan warrior considered it an insult to send only five saibamen after him. It was bad enough that Nappa and Vegeta used to compare him to Saibamen; although their specialized ones were far stronger than these average specimens. Before they even had a chance to make a move on Raditz, he raised both of his palms out towards the pack of five saibamen. "Double Sunday!" he shouted before releasing two charged energy spheres of purple ki energy. The powerful attack forced all of the Saibamen backwards, incinerating them as they desperately tried to get away. The round ended right then and there.
Surviving the Saibamen - Round 2
"PATHETIC! NEXT ROUND - BRING IT ON!" Raditz shouted in furious contempt. He had been sorely disappointed by such a short round. He could have handled these Saibamen many, many power levels ago. At least the Saibamen was left remaining open, so he wouldn't have to wait too long this time around. At least if the control room operators knew what was good for them.
"Guess our equipment is working just fine. Not bad for a low-class warrior, eh?" the first operator opined to his colleague. Again, both of them were preparing for the next round, this time selecting more Saibamen for Raditz to face. "He's a cocky little bugger ain't he? Son of Bardock or not, let's give him a challenge", the other operator said in a growling tone. The first one nodded back in approval, just as he made some final adjustments on his control panel.
Once again, a flashing light went off inside the training chamber along with the siren. New Saibamen had already been prepared, and soon they would come out to play with Raditz. "Round 2 Initiating" that familiar robotic voice. Yawning into his hand, Raditz felt as if his time were being wasted. Would he really get as strong as his brother, training in this dump? Another gust of cryogenic mist began to pour out of the Saibaman doorway. "Twenty-five minute limit.", the robotic voice echoed once more.
The thumping of an army of little feet echoed throughout the training chamber, as a swarm of fifteen Saibamen raced directly into the chamber room. Three times more in number than the last round, this was a considerable challenge. Yet Raditz was undaunted, knowing of his stellar odds for victory. "Well, its a start", Raditz said in amusement at this increase of difficulty.
Running himself directly into the crowd of Saibamen, Raditz decided to up the ante by attacking them head on physically . At least that would make it harder on himself by showing some recklessness. Thrusting his muscular right leg at the first Saibaman he saw, Raditz gave a powerful kick that punted the creature directly into a wall. "GOALLLLLL" Raditz shouted as if he were an all-star soccer player.
Minutes later........
While sporting a sadistic smile, Raditz wiped the back of his right hand against his now sweaty forehead. Only now he had begun just to have fun, having tortured and killed each of those poor little Saibamen. Their bodies were littered everywhere in the chamber; their blood and limbs all strewn about. Undoubtedly his match could have ended far sooner, if it was not for Raditz's desire to prolong their suffering. "WELL, WHAT ELSE DO YOU GOT FOR ME?", the proud Saiyan warrior grunted.
Surviving the Saibamen - Final Round
Back in the control room outside the chamber, the operators were equally appalled; and amazed at Raditz's brutal display. Indeed something had changed in him, as if an inferno was raging inside his soul. For too long he had been held down; often playing second fiddle to someone else as a henchman. He had been cast in the shadow of his younger brother Goku - whose fame was known throughout the galaxy. For any semblance of respect and dignity, Raditzhad to get stronger by any means necessary.
"My god, he's enjoying it... He's asking for more!", said the first operator with a puzzled look. To his colleague and pointing to a scan of Raditz's power levels on display; it was rather evident that very little could stop this warrior. "His power, its rising!!! What can we throw at him next next???, he said with a confused look on his face. Taking a pause to take this all in, the second operator replied with his own advice. "If this smug bastard wants a damn challenge, lets send the rest of the stock all at once! We'll send him the regulars, the clingers, and the mutates! Then we'll see who has the last laugh..." he said with malice. The devious scientists nodded in agreement; most proud of their diabolical creations.
To signal the next and final round, the blaring sirens and flashing light went off again once more inside the training chamber. The cryogenic mist swept out from the open doorway, indicating the last batch of Saibamen were on their way. Little did Raditz know however, of what would truly be sent at him. He did notice however, that the mist was far more voluminous and thick than usual. "Good good, now the party will really get started!", Raditz bellowed incredulously. Oh how little did he know.......
"Final Round Initiating" echoed the voice of the cold, robotic announcer. Stretching his arms and cracking his neck to loosen up, Raditz peered his eyes deep into the mists ahead of him. "Fourty-five minute limit.", the robotic voice echoed once more. Oddly however, Raditz couldn't hear the Saibamen march in. Although he could certainly sense them around. And just then he heard their all familiar screeching and snickering.....
In unison, the horde of Saibamen began using their phenomenal speed to rush into the training chamber. They were after-imaging, using actual strategy instead of just ki-blasts and kicks this time around. Raditz, slightly alarmed felt overwhelmed as he would now face a true challenge. One after the other, they began to jump in and punch or ki blast him. Raditz shrugged it this initially off, easily evading or absorbing their attacks. Yet in his carlessness and overconfidence, he would soon find himself way in over his head. These Saibamen were more powerful and intelligent than the previous ones; not unlike the ones that Vegeta and Nappa used against the Z-Warriors. Worse yet - there were twenty five in all.
"WHAT THE?!" Raditz said, as a Saibaman appeared out of nowhere, clinging itself to Raditz's bulky arm. In this moment of distraction, Raditz found himself sideline by another Saibaman's ki-blast. It hit his chest, breaking off a chunk of his Saiyan armor, knocking the wind out of him. Raditz shouted in pain, clasping his chest with his opposite arm. The other Saibaman still attached to his bicep, snickered with impunity as to foreshadow what came next. Suddenly that Saibaman exploded himself in a suicide attack; a daring effort to annihilate the powerful Raditz for his comrades. The training chamber filled with a hot white light, blinding everything and sending a dense fog of smoke everywhere.
Laying on his stomach, bloodied and battered, Raditz coughed as he inhaled smoke. His once pristine armor had been shattered on one side, and worse yet he could hear the other Saibamen cackling and closing in on him. Fortunately the smoke was providing him temporary cover, but it was obvious that Raditz was in a dangerous situation. He knew that he had overestimated the Saibamen; or that the scientists really wanted to teach him a lesson of humility. Either way, Raditz knew he would have to do something rather quick. Raising his left arm up to begin charging a white sphere of ki-energy, Raditz instinctively realized what he could do. As he gathered from his surroundings beforehand, the chamber was more than large enough to house an Oozaru. Turning that energy sphere into a Power Ball, Raditz began using his KI to artificially create enough Blutz energy waves to mimic a full moon's rays.
"Agggghhh!!!! Raditz howled in pain as the transformation into a Great Ape began to overtake his body. His eyes turned blood red, hair sprouted all over his body, and his muscles began to twitch violently. It wasn't helping that he was already injured, and his overall level of Saiyan rage was inducing the metamorphosis even more quickly. Then his face became ape-like, followed by the rest of his body which began growing and growing. In thisterrifying process, Raditz was losing all control over himself, his own mind blacking out to let the beast within take over. He was an Oozaru now, ten times deadlier than ever before. Roaring at the puny opponents before him, the veryscared faces of two dozen, soon to be dead, Saibamen would be the last memory Raditz could recall of his particular session.......
Fade to black...
