In her rearview mirror, Android caught sight of a being flying behind her. For this person to be flying meant one of two things: she either was acquainted with the person, or would end up fighting the person. Little did she know that she'd probably end up doing both.
It was Gohan! A Gohan who lacked an arm and had a very large, prominent, permanent scar on his face. Had he lost a bar brawl? That'd be unlikely. Chi Chi would faint if she ever saw Gohan in this condition before fighting Goku and saying that it was all his fault.
But there was one thing that Eighteen was still baffled by - why was he coming after her at such an alarming rate?

Entering the Gravity Room, Android 18's arms were folded across her chest. She'd seen the room before; she'd trained under increased gravity's influence before. But sparring would be interesting, to say the least. It would be nice if the opponent were stronger - she'd read his Power Level, and it was considerably lower than her own. Maybe she'd take it easy on him... no, she wouldn't. But she would toy with him for a while.
When asked if she'd like to spar, she replied with, "That's the plan." She didn't come in here to stare at one another. She gazed at him as he did his warm-up routine, lowering her head and giggling before she tucked a lock of hair behind her hair. "Alright, we're going to activate the machine now."
Eighteen was capable of sustaining the increased gravity. Her spar partner, though, obviously didn't handle it well for whatever reason. He crumbled under the pressure, cursing the lady and her technology. "Oh, brother. You sure you're up to this, kid?" She took a fighting stance with ease compared to the complications that Charles was experiencing while trying to maneuver. Hopefully he wouldn't shy away from the challenge she presented.

Today was a normal day. Hardly cloudy with a ten percent chance of rain; pedestrians flooded the streets; there was an automobile accident at Main Street and 1st Avenue. As Eighteen sat behind the wheel of her Capsule Corp. hover car with a backseat full of groceries, she steered in the direction of the Kame House, where she resided.
Traveling in West City to do her shopping and store going, it was inevitable that she'd bypass the prominent edifice that belonged to Capsule Corp. She flew overhead, taking a moment to look down at the interaction going on near the home of Krillin's dear friends. A purple-headed Trunks conversed with a one-armed boy with black hair. The android thought nothing of young Mr. Briefs speaking with one of his friends, and so she took her eyes off of the pair and focused on driving her car.
The radio played nothing interesting. She sighed as she accelerated on the gas. Driving was much more boring than flying; but she couldn't resist testing out her new car.

As her feet touched down on the ground and the sole's of her feet were dampened by the fresh dew on each blade of grass underfoot, Eighteen immediately began to scan the area. Craning her neck from left to right, she began to move forward. Her optical sensors were programmed to hone in anything round and/or orange. She'd caught wind of her brother's return from Hell. Number 18 couldn't be sure that the rumors were true, but if they were, then this excursion could be deemed insurance. Knowing her brother Number 17 - and she knew her brother well - he would having something malicious in mind. And one way to insure that his malicious intent wasn't backed by supernatural magic was to have one of the Dragon Balls in her possession.
If she could locate it successfully, then she wouldn't tell anyone but Krillin that she'd found it. Even though Goku and his family lived somewhere in the near vicinity, Eighteen didn't believe her searching Mt. Paozu would be in vain. Goku and his sons were busy people - too busy to search for a Dragon Ball that they didn't need. And Chi Chi certainly wouldn't be out looking for it in this wilderness. Oh no, the only person who seemed to understand the need to make sure that Android 17 - or any other other villains who managed to escape hell, for that matter - shouldn't have access to all seven of the Dragon Balls.
Her sensors told her to look up! It was unlikely that a Dragon Ball would be in a tree. The nest of an albino woodpecker housed three large and perfectly round eggs of the orange hue. Her sensors needed to be adjusted to search for orbs of a certain size too, apparently, because Android 18 didn't have time to waste looking up at nests or at stray, forgotten basketballs. Finding a Dragon Ball was too important of a task to be trifled with.
And so as silently as she could, she continued on her way. She'd trek half the perimeter of the Mt. Paozu area - maybe the entire thing if she had time left over. As long as she left enough time to make it to Marron's school before dismissal.

"What what that, bitch?" Eighteen didn't so much as flinch when the large, orange-haired Neanderthal punched the wall behind her, chipping the paint and cracking the cement. With a roll of the eyes she dismissed his antics; small minded muscle bums like this character were always trying to compensate for their lack of intellect with their overgrown muscles. If he was trying to intimidate her, he'd failed utterly. Why should she fear a human that didn't even break into the top ten of the world's strongest humans? She knew that not responding actually incited him more than insulting - so she kept her mouth shut and her face turned forward.
A lab assistant emerged from Capsule Corp to quell the multitude. She certainly knew how to take charge; her stare was enough to get the buffoon bothering 18 to behave. As she began to speak on her P.A. system, the sound of her amplified voice was enough to make some cover their ears. The blue eyed cyborg was able to keep a straight face throughout it all, hearing the instruction to form a line and then moving into position accordingly. "So nice to see you, Mrs. 18. I take it you're here for the offer? If so, you definitely are allowed it, since your a close family friend to my employers."
Stepping forward and not blinking at the same time, she displaced herself from the line and went on ahead to the entrance into the corporation. Many would groan in agony because just like that, one spot opening was gone - and all because the pretty blond girl knew the owners. If only they knew that the lot of them didn't stand a chance against her anyway; her being chosen really didn't matter. The lab assistant was doing a favor to anyone not chosen to spar with Eighteen.
She could hear the employee outside speaking while she waited just inside of the door for the second competitor and the assistant herself to lead her to the gravity room. Within a few seconds Number 18 could see hopefuls whose hopes had been dashed walking by the large glass doors, heading back off to wherever they'd come from. So the decision had been made. A moment later, in came the lady in the lab coat, two men carrying packages (one of them would be her spar mate), and the brute with the fiery hair. He approached Eighteen, looking down and stumbling over his words a little. He knew not of Eighteen's capabilities, so he wasn't stumbling out of fear; he stumbled because he was scared of the severe consequences that had been posed to him in the lab assistant's ultimatum. "Ummm... I sor-"
"Save it." There were more important things to do than listen to his apology. She didn't accept it and he didn't mean it, so it was best that he just moved on with his petty life. The lab assistant pointed to the door, signing that he could leave now before beginning to walk down the corridor and stopping at a room at the end of the hall. The door was huge; Eighteen was sure that this was the place.

Finally, some action. Her barrage of kicks and punches were parried off by Krillin. Of course she was driving him backward a little, but as they both floated along in mid-air combat such loss of (nonexistent) footing was to be expected. She was just content that instead of running away he was actually choosing to face her now. “You’re soo cute when you talk trash to me!” She growled and blushed at the same time. It was almost impossible to fight when he spoke like that. Trying to swoon her was worse than running away!
"Shut UP!" She screamed out and then realized that a punch was flying for her face. She lifted her arm, effectively stopping. There was a one second pause before Krillin's onslaught truly began. Scores of fists and foot soles were coming for Eighteen, and she frowned as she would block each of them. The force of her legs crashing into his legs and her arms crashing into his fists made loud, horrifically booming noises that scared all of the fish that were wading beneath them in the ocean away.
Had he never called her cute, this battle would be halfway over by now. Cute people couldn't fight. She would have to prove to him that there was a time for his bumbling sweetheart talk and a time to take her seriously. She faded away as Krillin would strike an Afterimage and appear behind him, a few feet above him too. If he could pick up where she was in time, he'd be able to block her diving Axe Handle. If he couldn't, then she'd charge again and knock him back onto the solid ground of the island.

The pretty girl with blue eyes who never feared of getting wrinkles would step into the Capsule boutique, smirking because her husband had just given her four-hundred Zeni to spend however she pleased. Stepping with one foot in front of the other, she let her hands rest on her hips as she strolled up to the cashier. Looking up at the salesclerk, she stated, "One capsule A and one capsule B, from the beginner class please." Did she need this stuff? Not really. But spending money was such sweet therapy.

Android 18 tucked a lock of her golden blond hair behind her left ear before returning her arm to its initial folded-across-the-chest position. She was quite easily the smallest person in this entire line. 18 was surrounded by at least two dozen men and women who were all six feet or taller, in the three-hundred pound range, and had huge, rippling biceps and triceps. Meatheads, the lot of them.
All of them, including Number 18, were here to hopefully be chosen for the opportunity to test out the new gravity room that had been developed by Capsule Corp. Normally the cybernetic femme fatale wouldn't dare waste her time with such foolishness. That she could beat any of the steroid monkeys around her without so much as gaining a scratch meant she'd receive no battle pleasure from the experience. This was all done for the love of money. Oh, what 18 wouldn't do for some Zeni.
"The nail shop's a block over, sweetheart," said a large man with orange hair. He towered two feet over the Android, but she didn't care. Rolling her eyes and turning away from him, she chose not to dignify his comment with a response. If only two people were being chosen to test the new technology, she'd better be one of the lucky couples. "Having to endure idiocy this out of control should be a crime."

Climb Korin Tower
"I may be stepping out on a limb here, but I think this is the place." Android 18 stood at the base of the large white pole that went forever and forever into the sky, past where even her optical sensors could see. Her husband had talked about the famed Korin who would supply him and his friends with Senzu beans that could restore their health with a few chews. She hadn't come here for the beans, though; she came because he also told her that this legendary being was an old cat with a cane. With nothing better to do with her weekend (Marron was spending the next two days with her friend from school and Krillin could take care of himself), 18 decided to see for herself if this bean giving cat was true.
"Well, I better get started," she said aloud, but no one was around to hear it... so did she really make a sound? Placing one hand above the other and finding secure footing, she began to scale up the tower.
Flying had occurred to her. It would sure be a hell of a lot faster. But this entire venture had been fueled on Krillin's tale. He said that as a child he and Goku had climbed up the entire pole and it had taken them days to do. To remain the dominant one in the relationship, Number 18 had to be able to do anything that her husband could do. And she had to be able to do it better, too!
The sun had already set when she was still climbing. It was a good thing that she had an unlimited energy supply. Statistics would probably reveal that many a human fell to their fate trying to see Korin - they probably climbed half-way, fell asleep in the middle of the night, and let go of the pole. From there, they'd wake up in other world and cry over their idiotic deaths. 18 let out a chuckle before looking upward. She could see the curvature of the plateau on which Korin lived; at the rate she was going, she'd be there by morning.
This high in the sky, the air was definitely cooler and colder than closer to the ground. The sun had already risen and found a comfortable place in the sky by the time Android 18 made it to the top of the pole. Grabbing hold onto the banister, she catapulted herself over and up onto the tiled floor. There he was, a white cat with squinted eyes and a large, wooden walking cane. "Hmm."
---
Catch Korin!
"So you've come to train with ol' Korin, eh?" the cat started, turning to his new visitor. The blue-eyed cyborg stepped forward, looking around at everything. The tiles weren't dirty at all; the banister had no dust; this sanctuary was overall clean.
"No. I've only come to prove that I can make it; I have no need to train with you." She sounded cold and robotic, but she didn't want to. Honestly, it's not like she had a choice in the matter. Looking over the edge of the tower's boundary she could see the oceans and land masses below. Looking back to the cat the android started up, "And now I think I'll be leaving."
Android 18 was just about to jump over the ledge and fly back home, when Korin spoke up and stopped her. "Oh ho ho, but you haven't really made it until you catch me! As far as I'm concerned, all you've done is climbed a pole. To climb Korin's tower, you must catch Korin!" 18 stopped just before her take-off. She couldn't really argue his logic; his tower, his rules. She turned around, no smirk or smile, and looked at the cat. If he was asking her to do this, then he had asked Krillin to this same act years ago. Bounding for the white tabby, 18 missed when floated away at an unexpectedly fast pace.
"Get back here," she muttered to herself as she sprinted after the cat. He ran in ellipticals than ran the gamut from short to small, acute and obtuse, within the tower and on the underside of its dome. The entire time she was always just behind him. But doing this would get her nowhere - she noticed that he was always accelerating, and to be behind him meant to never catch him.
She would have to head him off, which would be hard. He knew his tower better than she did, and probably anticipated this strategy from other seekers who thought themselves smart. But those others probably didn't have supercomputers for brains. The plan was formulated and now the cyborg would put it to the test! She sped up in a burst of energy to wind up on the side of Korin. In order to stay within the banister, he would have to make a right. She cut right, hoping to drive him left. Her afterimage would appear to his right, causing the sly cat to veer left. There, he'd see another Android 18! Sending his own afterimage toward the vision before him, Korin made a leap into the air with a sharp left turn, heading for the banister to leave the blond girl and gain momentum on the outskirts of the tower's dome's curvature. "You have to be quicker than that!"
Little did he know, the real deal physical Number 18 was already there on the edge waiting for him. "I am," she said coldly, reaching out and snatching Korin by the tail as he tried to avoid her again. She hadn't broken a sweat, and this little exercise had only wasted her time.
"Never has anyone captured me so fast! It took you only about half an hour... incredible! Now, you drink!"
---
Drink the Sacred Water
With Korin, the little white cat, in her hands, Android 18 thought she'd finished all his tasks and was done with his foolishness for the day. But that last remark, something about a beverage, threw her off. "Look. I caught you okay? I've already played one of your meaningless games today." The cat frowned before freeing himself from the Android's grip. She was a bit taken back; she didn't know he could do that.
"Why don't you show some respect, girly. Do I look like a clown to you? I'm not playing games here. You caught me so now I'll give you the opportunity to drink the Ultra Divine Water." 18 stayed put as Korin floated into a chamber of his tower and came back out with a blue and creme ceramic flask. He carried it by the end of his cane and handed it to the android before continuing. "Drinking this will make you stronger. But I must warn you that no human has ever drank the stuff and survived."
"Then it's a good thing I'm not human anymore," she said before uncorking the bottle and downing the stuff. Drinking it was no problem, for she couldn't taste. But after it all reached the pit of her stomach, her eyes popped and she almost dropped the vase while trying to give it back to the cat-immortal. "What is that stuff?! she cried out, dropping to the floor on both of her knees and holding her stomach. She hadn't felt pain like this since being absorbed by Cell.
"Don't worry. If you're not dead by now you'll be fine," Korin said as he floated away to replace the water. Android 18 lay on her side and writhing in pain, hoping that this entire experience had been worth it. At least one good thing had come out of this thing. Korin said that no human had ever drunken the water and lived. She'd made it further than Krillin ever did, and this monster stomachache was her proof.

Android 18 pulled off her black vest jacket and threw it onto the ground. The thing landed with an incredible thud. Under any normal conditions, it would be about two pounds at best; but under 40x gravity, it was closer to sixty pounds! She may be cheating a little by taking some weight off of herself, but 18 would make up for it with increased work.
As she flew as fast as she could in a ninety degree vertical angle, her hair was pressed back toward her back. Everything here was so damned heavy. She was only doing it as a favor to Bulma; the blue haired bombshell wanted to see how an Android would fair in the increased gravity setting, what with her internal wiring and systems and all. The thought of training had never put Number 18 off, so she didn't fear the challenge.
After reaching about ten meters into the sky, 18 stopped abruptly, hurting her head a little to stop so suddenly. She began to throw a barrage of kicks and jabs into the space in front of her, pummeling her invisible sparring partner. Her arms almost ached as she would throw them out and then retract with intense speed. Her hits were being throw slower than they would be thrown outside of this gravity setting. After about two minutes, the speed adapted.
That would be enough for today. Android 18 stopped levitating, letting herself fall right out of the atmosphere. She landed on both of her feet at the same time, feeling her calves tighten up as she made them sustain a fifteen meter drop. "Okay, Bulma, that's enough for today," she called out. The statement was heard outside of the training room and Bulma would unlock and open the door. Android 18 bent over to pick up her vest from the ground and then began to head for the door. She needed to pick up her daughter from school still.

Android 18 would grunt in frustration as Krillin flew out over the water and evaded her physical strikes and her Ki blast. She was going easy on him - to upset her by not even trying to be a worthy spar mate would force her to lose her temper and attack for real. "Will you stop being so pathetic and just fight me?!" she called out as she ran over to the shoreline. When she reached it, she jumped into the air and flew for her husband with her fists in punching position.
When she finally reached him, she planned hitting him with a quick eight-step combo: five punches, three kicks. If he just entertained her attempts at training then maybe she'd cut him some slack and go fix him a big, nice lunch. At this rate, he'd be eating sand and sleeping on the couch for the next week.

Android 18 would stop in her stride as she came upon the building she was looking for. The sign above the door read Mr. Satan's Dogo and she knew that this was the place. Inside would be that man with the curly hair, big biceps, and zero heroic acts under his belt. She slowly pulled open the door before entering and stepping inside, becoming just another student of the dojo.
The only reason she'd even bothered to travel to Satan City was to see her old pal Hercule. As she sat watching the television a week ago, an ad for this very dojo aired. Hercule bragged about how he defeated Cell single-handedly, and then reminded the audience that he had never lost at the World's Martial Arts Tournament. 18 couldn't help but laugh because if memory served, she'd actually let Satan win when she faced him in the finals.
The logic was simple. Krillin was away on business and Marron was at school. On the island with no one to interact with but Master Roshi and the turtle, things got dull. But coming to Satan City to embarrass Hercule in his own dojo? Now that would be fun!
Number 18 looked around at all of the young men dressed in all white with various belts tied around their waists. All of these young, naive souls here to learn from a liar. Maybe she'd tell all of the students about what a coward he really was? It would be more fun if she showed them... it was decided that she'd go that route. As she walked toward the front of the class, young men were shuffling to get out of her way. "Don't you remember her?! She made it to the finals of the WMAT and went up against Mr. Satan! She must be hear for a rematch." Number 18 smirked as she listened to their silly gossip.
There, sitting with his legs crossed and in a heavy black robe was Hercule. His head was lowered as he waited for the exact moment that class should begin. The cyborg folded her arms and waited for him to realize that she was there. "Okay, class," he said, standing up and never turning around, "I think it's high time I schooled you all in a thing or two!" And as he turned on his heels and was met by the android's cold stare, Hercule backed away in typical cowardly fashion! "It's you!"
Android 18 began to take slow steps toward him, never unfolding her arms. She smirked, and her large blue eyes sparkled. "That's right. Remember that little deal we made a while back? The one where I took the dive to let you hold up your false integrity? I think the lease on that agreement's expired. Don't you think it's about time everyone knew which one of us was really the better? She was just being mean now. She wanted to see him squirm.
"N-n-no! Please, anything but that!" She had his back against a wall now. "Look... uhh... how's about I pay you again?! Five hundred if you don't do it!" Money was certainly a language that the android spoke. 500 would do nicely, but just how far was Hercule was willing to go to protect his image was what Number 18 wanted to see.
"One thousand." Hercule's eyes bucked at the mention of the large number. He swallowed spit as the android looked on at him. Over to the side, more boys were gossiping. "They're so gonna have a rematch!" Android 18 looked back at Hercule with a popped up eyebrow. A rematch was fine by her.
"Okay, one thousand! Just don't hurt me, please!" Entirely too easy. 18 had set out to embarrass Hercule; instead, she embarrassed him and made a profit off of it. Staring him down for a few more seconds to make sure he wouldn't back out of this second agreement (not like he'd be stupid enough to dare trying such a thing) the blond haired cyborg turned around to face the young men who thought she was here to fight the great Mr. Satan.
"Actually, I'm here to sit through a class. I'm sure there are still things I could learn from the almighty Hercule," was her announcement, even though there was a hint of sarcasm in her voice. She marched to the back of the room with her arms still crossed and folded over her chest. As Mr. Satan started up his class with a few warm-up routines, she zoomed in on his countenance to see that he was still sweating. Good. She just might make a weekly habit out of this.

The sun was up high in the center of the sky. The crystal blue water of the ocean surrounding Master Roshi's island appeared white because of the shimmering effect the sun had on it. A light breeze caused the island's few palm trees to sway like graceful hula dancers. Truthfully, this miniature resort of an island could be mistaken for heaven on Earth. Anyone would be glad to spend twenty-hours here just to relax and let all of life's problems melt away.
But paradise soon turned into a warzone as a large water spout was set off as the result of a ki blast gone astray. Android 18 stood by the shoreline of the island, the tide coming up just to the back of her sandaled foot. She scrunched up her face as she pushed some hair out of her face. "You've got to do better than that if you want lunch, Krillin!" With that being said she dashed forward at a blinding speed with her right knee extended and her hands in an assumed praying mantis position.
This harmless - someone had reminded 18 that this was harmless, right? - spar exhibition between man and wife was all in preparation for the World's Martial Arts Tournament that was coming up soon. The official date hadn't been set yet, but it was usually around this time. This year, Android would be signing up and she wanted Krillin to sign up too to double the chances of their family winning the grand prize. As she launched her attack on Krillin, she imagined the shopping spree she'd be able to go on with that money.
