It was a rather hot day in the certain field this story takes place in. The sun shining brightly and powerfully above the grassy area, a complete plain surrounded by a forest area with rather large but thin trees. Just the perfect day for someone to get into a small fight with a different fighter, won't you say so too? Some would think, but certain pacifists will prove me wrong.
Either way, the warrior standing in the area just for a simple rest and getting energy from the sun would think just as I would. Yamcha is the warrior's name, a desert bandit living off the profits of others, and as luck would have it today he decided to take a break form everything and just chill off in the hot sun. But the urge need for some action always strikes him, even in the atmosphere as hot as it is currently. Luck would have it, someone would magically appear by coincidence.

Gohan had sensed a decently high power level nearby as he had been wandering around Earth. He had been attempting to grow stronger, yet it was difficult on your own. When he had been younger, his father or Piccolo would teach him, their power levels far outclassing his own, yet no matter where he looked he couldn't find any power level that staggered him except perhaps a singular one. His uncle Raditz had increased his power three hundred fold since the last time they had met. Quite an intimidating person back when he had been a child, Gohan's uncle had been no less fearsome this time... although this time he could easily destroy the planet that the half saiyan called home.
The young one-armed man descended upon to the field, glancing around the area. It was warm, a nice day by all accounts. He could feel the power level.... there. It was Yamcha, a power level nearly equaling his own and it was Yamcha. That was quite a surprise. "Yamcha, good to see you." He said, all the while wondering how the human warrior from this strange world would act. He still couldn't figure out all of the differences, yet he was sure that this man was going to be the same. Gohan could picture the older man flirting with women all of the time, either that or doing whatever Bulma commanded, depending upon when.

It appears that time and waiting decently does pay off sometime, even if you decided to take the slack today. Out of the skies appeared a warrior, black hair on his head and a Gi similar to that of the warrior he had known for so long - Goku. Oddly, the man had one arm, noting his handicapped state, but he was still quite the powerful fighter - that alone could be said from the Ki emitted from his body. While he wasn't in the mood for fighting today, he had to force himself to not do so as the long-haired warrior was striving to fight, hungry for action.
He couldn't quite recognize the person in-front of him right away considering they have never met in this world. The universe the man on the front comes from would be an alternate one where Yamcha was killed long ago, but he was certain through the sheer sensing of the Ki energy and the look on his face: that person, the bandit was familiar with. "Oh wow. Gohan? Is that you?" With eyes widened and a surprised look over his face, the man pointed at the new character that arrived in the seen, thinking to himself how time flies by - only then realizing he's missing an arm. Perhaps it would be explained after the 'Gohan''s reply. But if not, there's always room for questions.

Gohan began to doubt his decision. Why did he have to know all of the most powerful fighters on Earth? It would have been useful to find some random bystander, yet it didn't seem to be destined that way. It was a nice day though, he took a deep breath as the breeze ruffled his hair. He reached up, rubbing the scars on his face as he watched Yamcha, wondering how similar they were. He didn't have the crossed one upon his cheek though. "I am Gohan..." He said, unsure of how to explain something that he didn't understand yet. He looked over Yamcha, determining that he wasn't the human warrior that had been killed by the androids like he remembered, mostly because he looked at the end of his left arm.
Gohan looked into the sky, wondering if he should even bother to explain. "From what I understand, I'm not the Gohan you're familiar with though." The half saiyan shrugged as he looked over Yamcha. He had always been rather relaxed, yet it should be noted that this man had always had a peculiar temper as well. "Still playing baseball?" He asked, remembering that as the last profession that the human martial artist had. That had been quite some time ago though, it could have changed or Yamcha might never have been a baseball player here.

Yamcha looked a little confused, though. The Gohan he knew obviously had no handicap, but this was certainly the same person he knows (sort of), be it that or the other way. He just couldn't bring himself into thinking of them as different, and normally such a thing wouldn't really interfere with his daily relaxing considering the fact the two warriors only got to truly bond during their time on Earth before the Androids' arrival. A little time before that too involved both fighters together but that was unfortunately a short while that Yamcha doesn't really like remembering - at all. That is, namely, his death.
But it would seem that this Gohan was fond of the bandit a little more than he expected, hearing as much as to know he has been playing baseball for The Titans once. Well, greetings aside, it looks like the person in-front is after all Goku's son, but not necessarily the version of which the long-haired one knows. "Nah, I cut off on that and returned to fighting. Y'know, with all these latest events happening. What about you?" He asked, obviously referring to how is it possible for Gohan to be identified as Gohan but not truly the one he knows. But, such questions aside, the day was in incredibly good weather - thus not much time to waste. "What about your arm?" Tactless, but worth it. Knowledge would have to come first if those two are to engage to a different action later, which would be most likely to happen considering the bandit's desires.

Gohan didn't know what to do here. He wished Trunks was here to explain to him what was happening here. He rolled his shoulders uneasily, glancing at the forest around them. The half saiyan looked over Yamcha, he did seem to be stronger than the last time they had met. Perhaps the bandit wasn't lazing about any more. "Errr... I suppose I'm still a fighter." He couldn't remember much about Yamcha before his fate at the hands of the androids. It had been a rather tragic event when all of the Z Fighters had met their match in the form of the cyborgs. He rubbed his stump for a moment, staring at the ground off to the side, trying to think of something to say...
"It's... ok, I suppose. Ever since the androids..." Gohan trailed off, unable to figure out how to explain it to someone with little knowledge. He could only wonder who Yamcha had been training with. Gohan could remember the time the human had snuck into the Gravity room at Capsule Corporation and had tried to set it to 300x only to find out that Vegeta was far more powerful than himself. The half saiyan looked around, wondering where Puar was. The cat usually accompanied Yamcha wherever he went. "Where's Puar?"

"The Androids, huh? Figures." Yamcha's look changed from a surprised one to a way serious appearance, also changing and lowering his tone. He could come up with a few possibilities as for what happened and how did Gohan lose his arm, for after his small description of what he attempted to say, the bandit already knew what was happening - or at least had the small idea of what this was. Puar was taking this day off though, taking a day in Kame House with Oolong and Launch for some reason. Perhaps just vacation?
"So, tell me. Is there anyone else besides you and Trunks alive over there?" He asked, trying to figure out if his theory is correct. According to that small summarizing sentence - and the fact Gohan would know Trunks visited the past - Yamcha thought that perhaps this was the future's Gohan, an alternate version that lost his arm in a fight against the Androids. But soon, he realized what he had done to make this day grow a little worse. "Oh, I'm sorry! Shouldn't have asked you about that..." He said, rather getting himself in an awkward situation. But nevertheless, any state would be better for the long-haired than being alone with a girl.

Gohan was rather confused by Yamcha's seeming knowledge of himself and Trunks. Everyone else hadn't quite known why he was like he was. It was rather comforting to know that everything he had known wasn't a lie. He had no idea where Trunks had gone, flying off quickly after Gohan's halo had disappeared. And then he'd realized the state his power level was in when he couldn't even sense where his friend was. Everything was so confusing since that had happened. He wished Trunks had told him what surprise he was showing him when he got in that Capsule Corporation contraption.
"Bulma and Chi-Chi... As far as I remember. No Guardian means no Dragon Balls. I'm not even alive over there. Oh yeah, Roshi, Puar, and Oolong came out form their submarine too." Gohan was confused by Yamcha's apology. It wasn't like the truth hurt him any longer. It would probably injure the bandit more to hear that he was still in the Other World over there. He shrugged, glancing around the clearing once more as he attempted to figure out the ex-bandit's purpose here. "So what're you doing out here, Yamcha?" It wasn't like him to be out and about by himself. Gohan had figured that if the bandit was training, Tien would be making sure he never surpassed him.

To be completely honest, usually the man would be offended to hear of his weakness but this time was different only because he experienced first-handed the real terror of the Androids, on his own body and with his own eyes. And to think their apparent leader was the true threat, considering he was to take the parts of the Androids and thus gain more power. If he was to take out Android 16 as well, the Earth would have ceased to exist as we know it if at all - but it's probably sheer luck that he didn't consider absorbing the fellow as well, for that's not how he was programmed or created.
Yamcha did not flinch at all throughout future Gohan's story, listening to the small details he requested earlier. In fact, 3 names alone were enough to satisfy his confused mind. "Puar, Bulma and Master Roshi are alright, huh? That's a relief." He said with a slight sigh coming out of his mouth, a relaxed expression over his face. And luck would have it, the opportunity jumped like no other towards the desert bandit to engage in combat as his fellow friend asked about his business in the place. "Well, I've decided to take the day off, but I don't think this'll happen now." He said as he stretched his back backwards, soon planning to invite the Half-Saiyan to a small spar. It was all already planned in his mind, actually.

Gohan didn't know how about only six of their friend's have survived was a relief. Well, to be honest, those were the only ones that Yamcha had interacted with most of the time. His father had told him about his rivalry with Tien, Krillin, and himself yet ever since Namek, none of the humans had really spent much time with them. Perhaps they were all training or distracted with living their lives, which had been cut short at the hands of the androids. Gohan looked the other man over, wondering if he had been training with Goku perhaps, maybe Tien and Chiaotzu, or even Krillin. They all seemed to be at about the same amount of power, which was bad considered there were monsters running about with enormous amounts of power. He could only imagine how they would defeat them.
"Decided to take the day off? And you'd be so kind as to spare me a moment of your time." Gohan grinned, knowing what this was leading to. He rolled his neck, popping it. He scratched the back of his neck as he waited for the invitation, not wanting to rush Yamcha. Very rarely had good things ever come from trying to get the bandit to do what was expected of him. Gohan knew this from the many stories that his father had told him about his adventures as a young man. Piccolo had told him many things as well. He wished the two of them were still by his side now.

It looks like the Gohan from the future tempted the bandit to go on with what they both apparently desired, for that comment was definitely sort of an opening for a powerful dunk. Very soon would the long-haired fighter realize he's being invited, only to answer gladly to the call with a single cracking of his fingers' joints in both hands right after giving out the request. "You know, about that future. I've been wondering how did Trunks get so strong, might you show me?" He asked with a proud look on his face, a grinning smile not too wide but still convincing. The fierce look of a wolf was pasted all over his face as he prepared himself for physical combat.
Yamcha didn't like the sound of actually battling one of his comrades, therefore this was going to be considered a mere spar - nothing beyond single punches and kicks flying around, so to be expected. Rarely are Ki-based attacks ever used in these kinds of matches and it would prove to be a good thing this human is quite fond of mainly physical and quick jabs and swings at the targeted opponent, namely Gohan. Their body size was pretty much the same, so the range is equal between their properties - only Gohan missing an arm, which is a great advantage for the bandit. But as luck would have it, he decided to remain a fighter and now consequences are sure to come.

Gohan grinned at Yamcha, having an answer prepared for this specific situation. "There's an easy answer to that. He had a good teacher." The young man stretched his arm back and forth, obviously wanting to keep at least his singular arm from cramping while fighting. He rolled his shoulders, feeling adrenaline build in his gut. He had never felt like his father, not exactly having fun during fights, but ever since the androids, Gohan had been determined to grow stronger and help Trunks to become strong enough to destroy the androids if he couldn't finish the fight. Luckily Trunks had done just that after some time. It had been strange, not having to fight while he had been dead.
The young man nodded, signaling that he was ready. He also hoped that Yamcha was ready, as he used after image to attempt to get the drop on his sparring partner. He attempted a low spinning kick that would sweep the other man off of his feet. Gohan came out of the spin with a punch that would be aimed at the the bandit's stomach, whether he was still on his feet or not. He didn't want to injure Yamcha's pretty face, the half saiyan wasn't sure that the bandit would be able to continue sparring if his greatest asset was damage. Gohan nearly laughed at the thought of such a ridiculous notion.

The burst of adrenaline came out from both fighters almost precisely at the same time, but the one to start the real battle was in fact Gohan and not Yamcha, which have already sorted out how to begin. But to his advantage, although he had the downside of going defensive on the start of the battle, the bandit deserved more time to think through his moves as the After-Image was made and by merely sensing his opponent's Ki signals did he manage to jump above the sweeping kick and put out his palm to block the punch aiming to his stomach.
He now knew a small extent of his opponent's strength, after feeling the force the punch packed right at his palm. But soon came his own turn to attack, that would have to be performed from mid-air and rather on the land like he planned earlier. Not that it was the hardest choice though. Yamcha soon came up with a direct kick to his enemy's side, attempting to get a shot at his ribs but it wasn't everything. In order to balance himself on the air and prevent his body from being thrown, he caught the target's contacting punch as he swept in a following punch with his free hand, right after the kick.
The fight began at last.

Gohan wasn't surprised that Yamcha had been able to dodge and block his attacks respectively. The bandit had been trained by Popo and Korin, as were most of the people he had regularly spent time with that fought. The exceptions were Trunks, Vegeta, and Piccolo. He grunted as his fist was grabbed tightly though, restricting his arm in place. He jerked at it experimentally trying to get it free. He couldn't quite manage it though. Well this seemed a little unsportsmanlike, although he could think of a way to make the bandit let go. One particular thing that might do the trick came to mind, something that his recently revived uncle had done when he was a child... But this was a spar and he didn't want to try to hurt Yamcha.
Gohan growled as the kick met his ribs, it was rather painful, especially since he couldn't retaliate very well when both of his arms had been neutralized. The young man jerked to the side, barely avoiding the punch that had been aimed at him. He retaliated with a stomp to Yamcha's foot, a headbutt aimed for the nose, and then a knee aimed at his opponent's thigh that would hopefully set it tingling painfully for a while. The headbutt and stomp happened simultaneously, while the knee didn't come until after he had gotten his foot underneath him again.

Yamcha was in mid-air as he performed his series of attacks but still got to land after the successive hit for the opponent's ribs, only to be expecting yet another surprise attack coming from the experienced fighter. As far as the bandit would remember, his training with Mr. Popo would bring him that ability to sense Ki and shield himself, as well as gain free usage over the arts of the human metal and physical energy. Training with Korin was a simple power-up, but he couldn't help but wonder how is it that both fighters seem to have a rather identical fighting style - considering Yamcha was a disciple of the Turtle Hermit and Gohan probably wasn't, learning to fight under Piccolo when he was just 4 or 5.
He had to make a choice, either his face or his foot. But as they say, there is always an alternative, which is why after raising his foot up and dodging the stomp, Yamcha ordered his forehead to the headbutt - sort of countering it with his own head. It was painful and the spot that was hit throbbed, making him release his hold over his enemy but the future fighter wasn't nearly done. By this moment, the bandit would already have left Gohan, but not before the knee came right up at his thigh - missing him and making the illusion fade. It was an After-Image.
The real long-haired bandit, as expected, planned to go behind of his target and throw his elbow towards the back of the fighter, predicting that the move might not work. Due to that, an extra feature was added to his streak and he prepared his legs for a wide sweep at the enemy right after the elbow would miss or hit, in a way that could easily throw his target away (considering the power packed and the weight he opposes).
